ADVISORY BOARD: SIDNEY BRAMMER, a native Austinite, was exposed early on to the creative and liberal political circles of Central Texas. (Her father, Billie Lee Brammer, was a writer/journalist and author of the award-winning novel The Gay Place). A Fine Arts major at U.T., and performing artist in theatre, dance, film and television, she helped found the award-winning regional theatre company, Big State Productions, whose signature production, In The West, toured the state for a decade and played Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in the early 1990s, representing the best of Texas theatre. In the late 1980s and 90s she lived in New York City and Los Angeles, working as a production coordinator, supervisor and manager on Hollywood and independent feature films, as well as commercials. In tandem with her entertainment industry career, she also worked as a freelance arts critic, feature writer and editor for various publications, including The New York Amsterdam News, The Texas Observer, The Austin Chronicle, and the Austin American-Statesman. Today, she is an independent video director, theatre director, screenwriter, playwright, educator and grant writer. Her most recent credits: Story and Editorial Consultant, The Legend of Ghostwolf’s Gold (directed by her former student, Shane Scott), Co-director with C.K. McFarland for the premiere production of A Ride With Bob (starring Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel) and Director of the new BORDER RADIO live concert broadcast radio series (produced by Texas Folklife Resources). She is a current adjunct faculty member of the creative writing department of Austin Community College and a founder of SoCo’s Alleywood Studios. DEBRA DAVIS is an award-winning Producer and Line Producer with over twenty years of production experience ranging from television series, special events, live music and award shows to industrials, sporting events and commercials. Credits include: Producer of the Los Lonely Boys DVD and "More Than Love" video, Line Producer of the Lonestar Rollergirls for A&E, ABC's "Welcome To The Neighborhood", CMT's Stars Over Texas, Dave Matthews: In the Spotlight Special for PBS, several seasons of Hard Rock Live for VH1, Out of the Box for Disney and special events for clients such as Exxon-Mobil, Canon and Microsoft. She won an Emmy in 1996 for her involvement with NBC's Olympics broadcast. SUSAN KIRR received her MFA in film production from New York University and has worked in the film industry in Texas for 14 years. She produced the independent features Only in America and The Keyman, and production managed A Scanner Darkly, Infamous, The Wendell Baker Story, Homo Erectus, Elvis and Annabelle and The New Land. She also produced the documentary Bike Like U Mean It with her partner Rusty Martin. ALISON MACOR is a former Contributing Film Critic for the Austin American-Statesman. She also has profiled film industry professionals for Texas Monthly, Tribeza and other magazines. She holds a Ph.D. in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin and teaches classes at the Austin Museum of Art. She is writing a nonfiction book about the history of the Austin film scene.
