REEL WOMEN LOCAL SPONSOR OF THE 2004 LUNAFEST

For the third year in a row, REEL WOMEN is the local sponsor of "LunaFest, films by...for...about women".  Tentative date for the event is Sunday afternoon, November 14. LunaFest is a project of Clif Bar / Luna Bar; net proceeds go to The Breast Cancer Research Fund. 
 
There are many details to work on to prepare for this event.  If you would to help out, please let us know.  We're also looking for breast cancer survivors' groups, as well as any community service groups, that would like to co-sponsor.  Contact reelwmen@texas.net.
 
The films are always terrific, all national award winners.  LunaFest has traditionally let REEL WOMEN program around 15 minutes of local films (by females) into the evening.  If you have something that you'd like us to include, please let us know ASAP.  The event also includes "goodie bags", free Luna Bars, a free raffle ticket for cool prizes, etc.
 
A national women's film festival, which lets Austin women participate AND gives us prizes, while raising money for something that effects mostly women -- how great is that?!  A win-win-win situation for all!
 
COORDINATOR NEEDED:  We need someone to take on this project!  Specific duties will included location coordination, marketing/promotion, liaison with LunaFest HQ, equipment procurement (if necessary), schlepping/shipping/receiving, co-sponsor recruitment, audience recruitment, ticket sales, volunteer staff coordination, "goodie bag" distribution, raffle prize distribution, reports, local film coordination.  A lot of this is already in the works and/or we have a template from the last two year's on how to handle.  We just need someone with a little time and a lot of energy and enthusiasm!  Budget allowing, we may even be able to offer a few $$ for this person's services!
